Recent visits to the movies

- Insidious 2 was fantastic!! A great follow-up to Insidious and rumor has it that part 3 has been green lit.

- World War Z, which I saw in 3D was pretty good.  I expected more but I would still recommend a rental.

- Man of Steel got mixed reviews but I really enjoyed it.  It was action-packed and also filled a major hole in the original story.  Superman fans will know what I mean by that.

Synopsis of 'Essence' from the Battle for Blood trilogy

Synopsis of ‘Essence’

Book One of the Battle for Blood Trilogy

After years of negotiations, the vampires and humans finally came to an agreement on how they could co-exist.  There was only peace for a short time as the vampire race began to run low on their agreed upon food supply and started feeding on those who were considered off limits.

With many of their own disappearing, the human leaders tasked Stanley Falcon to develop a special substance that once injected into the bloodstream of the humans, made them tainted in the eyes of the vampires.  The human leaders saw this as an opportunity to profit and priced the shot astronomically high.

Their efforts to starve the vampire nation created absolute chaos all across the globe.  This brought Armand Vallini, the head of the vampire nation, to gather his forces and survive by any means necessary.

The unlikeliest of heroes to be called to arms was Chase Falcon, the son of Stanley Falcon, who had a personal score to settle with Armand Vallini.

With constant deception, double-dealing, and brutality, this trilogy will make you question which race is more inhumane and will intrigue you with the complexity of the characters.

You won’t want to miss this.

Here is another teaser to my upcoming novella, A Timely Curse.

He was nearly home when he spotted the strange man that seemed to be scouting either William, or perhaps casing his house.  The boy was not the type to confront a mysterious stranger, so his first instinct was to pretend like he didn’t see him and keep walking.  The wind was howling, and the paranoia was lingering, as William was reluctant to turn around to see if he was being followed.  A brief moment of courage was mustered as he quickly turned to see nothing, much to his relief.  Now, taking a deep breath, he turned back on his path home and became suddenly startled by the tall dark figure in front of him.

Excerpt from my first novella, A Timely Curse.

He stood in front of the mirror, staring, unimpressed by what he saw.  William Danver was a scrawny little thing with glasses and an advanced vocabulary.  Not exactly the formula for popularity for a seventeen year old boy in high school.  William was constantly on the receiving end of torment and ridicule along with the occasional beating thrown in when the jocks wanted to impress the cheerleaders.  He didn’t mind because he was smart enough to know that high school would be the peaking point in their lives.  The familiarity of this treatment was not brought on by the cruel inner circle at Lawrence High, but from a source much closer to home.

A Timely Curse

A Timely Curse is a quick read of the paranormal variety at novella length, and is guaranteed to keep you salivating from one chapter to the next.

For William Danver, High School was a breeze, academically that is.  Although he wasn't popular, at all, his real problem was at home.

His father Gary Danver was an abusive, sadistic man, who also happened to be the crooked sheriff in their small town.  Unable to get any help from the authorities, William vowed to protect his mother and younger sister by any means necessary.

His wish to protect his family came in the form of a mysterious stranger, Alexander, who would change the boy's life forever.  Was it a curse or a blessing he granted William with?  And did he do this to help the boy protect his family or did he have his own selfish reasons?

Cover reveal
